Wish Upon a Spa
When a hotel is known for both its glorious spa treatments and its ravishing restaurant menu, you know they must be on to a winner.
The setting alone of The BrookLodge, in a Wicklow valley is enough to fall into a seductive rhythm of life that seems far away from the stress and strains of city living. For serious relaxation combine a Serail Mud Chamber experience with a healing Hammam at the Wells Spa - giving a floating on clouds affect and can only be boosted further as you soak in the thermal suite. The icing on top is a lunch or dinner in The Strawberry Tree, which confirmed the sceptic in me that eating purely natural cuisine really does taste batter. Perhaps it helps when the meal is served in a rural setting with stunning views and washed down with a fine bottle of wine.
