The Strawberry Tree Restaurant has been hosting its unique Wild Foods Dinner for over twenty years now. We are delighted to announce that once again The Sugarloaf’s Annual Wild Foods Dinner which will take place in Macreddin Village on Saturday November 23rd 2019. This is now Ireland’s largest Wild Foods Dinner. Commencing with a celebration of Wild Foods in the form of an Afternoon ‘Wild Foods MasterClass’ encompassing the Annual Wild Foods Dinner. The MasterClass will be led by Evan Doyle - founder of The Strawberry Tree Restaurant, James Kavanagh – Strawberry Tree Head Chef, some Crew members of The Strawberry Tree Brigade along with some experts in the area.

The Wild Foods MasterClass – The White Room, BrookLodge
The Afternoon Wild Foods MasterClass will take you through a full calendar of natural Wild Foods that are available along 327,000km of our Irish Hedgerows. The MasterClass with The Chefs of The Strawberry Tree Restaurant and Evan Doyle, co-author of the best-selling 'Wild Food' book will cover identification as well as instruction on how to gather, cook and preserve using traditional methods such as sugar, oil, drying, vinegars and alcohol. Evan and his Crew will be joined by some other experts in the area.

The Wild Food ‘Wild Berry Cocktail’ Reception
Six months of harvesting Wild Berries, from the Wild Strawberry in June, the Wild Bilberry in July right through to the last Wild Sloe. Tonight, is a celebration of these Harvests as an aperitif before The Annual Wild Foods Dinner.

The Wild&Wicklow Annual Wild Foods Dinner
Bringing together ten months of Wild Foods Harvests from Macreddin Villages unique ‘Wild Food Pantry’, together with Wicklow’s abundance of sustainable Wild Game in one complete Wild Foods Menu (well, all except for the potatoes!) As always on these occasions Dinner includes wine. The Annual Wild Foods Dinner 2019 is presented by Evan Doyle, James Kavanagh and The Strawberry Tree Kitchen Brigade and Crew.

Sunday 24th of November 2019 - Late Check-out time of 1.00pm
Breakfast at Macreddin Village will run through until midday for those that have found themselves discussing the merits of Wild Foods, until the early hours.
