McKennas'Guides, 100 Best...

Evan Doyle and The Crew at Macreddin Village were amoung those mentioned in yesterday's Sunday Times.

The eagerly awaited McKennas' Guides Best 100 Restaurants scrolled the pages of The Sunday Times yesterday, the 04th of February 2018. John and Sally McKenna used words like "culinary extravaganza, feast and epic" to describe last years ZER0KM journey at Macreddin Village.

The Crew are both honoured and privileged for being chosen as one of the best in Ireland by John & Sally McKenna.

In the words of John & Sally...

"Evan Doyle's audacious ZER0KM Dinner here at Ireland's first certified organic restaurant last year was a culinary extravaganza in which each element of the 15 courses was culled from within 1km of the village. Doyle and his team spent 20 months preparing the feast: they grew the wheat for the bread and the grapes for the wine, foraged for ingredients and farmed others, and reared the animals.

Every element of that epic event showed what self-sufficiency can achieve and was a stunning showcase of what goes on here on a daily basis, as can be seen from the five-course dinner menu and nine-course tasting menu. Perhaps Doyle should be running the Department of Agriculture".
